For the first time in the history of Parma and Montechiarugolo a combined event took place: ATP Tour and WTA Tour made their landing in the Emilian cities, both with a 25o points tournament. Emilia-Romagna Open: the spectacle was held from 16 to 22 May on the clay courts of the Tennis Club Parma, scene of a WTA 250 and, from 22 to 29 May, on those of the Tennis Club President in Montechiarugolo, stage of an ATP 250 tournament also on clay, which was scheduled as a prologue to Roland Garros. After two exceptional Challenger editions at the President, which saw the former No. 5 in the world ranking Tommy Robredo and Frances Tiafoe as winners, the Region crowned Coco Gauff and Sebastian Korda as the first champions of the major circuit on Emilian soil.
